  • Hanging of the Greens and Annual Dinners - December 16, 2007
Atonement: Please join friends and family for a great pasta dinner, hosted by our youth group, followed by the hanging of the greens!

Dinner follows the 10:45 service (about noon). Reservations are appreciated and can be made by calling the church office at 492-9065.

After dinner, everyone is invited (and bring friends!) to decorate the church for Christmas. There are both heavy- and light-duty decorating chores, so there is something for everyone!

St. Paul's Fabius: Immediately following the 9:00 AM Service at St. Paul's Fabius, we will gather for food, fellowship, and preparing the church sanctuary for Christmas. All are welcome and many hands are needed. There will be plenty of food to share and lots of work too. Bring something to share and spend as much of the day as possible. Come when you can and go when you must!

...and, speaking of the youth group...your help is needed for the Hanging of the Greens Pasta Dinner, a fundraiser for youth group activities. Please call Mrs. Holmgren (677-3846) to let her know whether you can help with set up (during the 8:30am service and the Sunday School hour-unless you are in Confirmation class), serving (after the late service), or cleanup.

Christmas Plants - It's not too late to order a beautiful Christmas Poinsettia that will grace our sanctuary for Christmas. Plants are $10 each. Donations are being taken at worship on Sunday Deember 16 or may be mailed to church. Be sure to include your desired memorial inscription.

    ...and Please Join us!
We need voices for our Christmas Choir. We have a wonderful and enthusiastic group in the choir already and would love to include you. If you are interested, please contact Kathryn Woods. Call the church office at 492-9065. Leave a message (including a good time to call you back).

  • Mark Your Calendar - Annual Meeting

The Annual Meeting will be on Sunday, January 27. Dinner will follow the 10:45 service, followed by the meeting. Please plan to attend.

    ...speaking of the Annual Meeting....
    Annual Reports!
If you are the chair of a committee or organization, or responsible for a group, please get working on that annual report for your organization. We're looking for just a few paragraphs that summarize your 2007 activities. We need those reports by the end of the year. The best method is to put them in an email and send them to June at june@alcsyracuse.org. If you don't have access to email, we'll take a hard copy. Just put it in the graphic arts mailbox in the church office. Remember, the sooner you get the report done and handed in, the less you'll be hounded!

  • Atonement Youth Activities

    Christmas Eve Youth Pageant
Atonement youth from nursery school through high school will present "Three Women of Bethlehem" during the 7 p.m. family service on Christmas Eve. Please join us for this very special celebration of Jesus' birth.

    Rehearsal schedule:
Parents are asked to ensure that their children (nursery through high school) attend Sunday school as often as possible during Advent, as many of the children will be preparing for the pageant during this time period. Older youth who have been given speaking roles in the pageant are reminded that they also need to attend rehearsals from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15 and Saturday, Dec. 22. In addition, all of the younger children who are participating in the pageant are asked to join us for the Saturday, Dec. 22 rehearsal.

NOTE: If your child needs a ride to either of the Saturday rehearsals, please call Judy Holmes.

Annual Sunday Church School Cookie Bake
Children from nursery through sixth grade will be baking cookies on Sunday, Dec. 2 during the Sunday School hour. The cookies will be served on Christmas Eve after the 7 p.m. family service. Parents are welcome to donate cookie dough and/or to stay and help us bake cookies and do crafts.

Questions: Call or e-mail Judy Holmes at 673-9393 (after 6 p.m.) or EWHolmes@att.net

  • Wednesday Church Night Going to "Lights on the Lake"

Families from the Wednesday worshiping community will be going to "Lights on the Lake" on Wednesday, December 26. If you would like to attend, and have not signed up already, please call Pr. Rodgers at 492-9065. It is important that we know how many want to go, so there is enough seating.

  • 2008 Pledge Cards

"Money doesn't grow on trees...." Please remember to make your Financial Commitment for 2008. Return your Pledge card in the box in the rear of the Sanctuary or mail it to the Church Office as soon as possible. Extra forms are available from the ushers on Sunday or you may call the church office and they will be happy to send you another card. It really is important to hear from everyone.

  • Christmas Memorials
